Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and forward-thinking Fire Alarm Technician to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will install, program, perform system start-up/check-out, testing/commissioning, customer training, and all associated documentation on assigned projects, including more complex ones. Requirements

Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
Ability to convey complex subject matter to a non-technical audience.
Willingness to learn technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security.
Ability to be a self-starter and work well with little supervision.
Understanding of electronics to include Ohm’s law, resistor color code, and relay logic for control of third-party equipment.
Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g., works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
Experience programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning Edwards or equivalent fire alarm systems of small to medium complexity.
Must be driven to achieve necessary certifications/licensing related to products, industry, and city/state.
Willingness to coach and mentor less experienced colleagues.
A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Possess NICET Level II in Fire Alarm.
Possess low voltage electrical license as required by local/state.
Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis.
Minimal overnight travel may be required.
Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience.
Licenses & Certifications: Local/State Electrical License, NICET Level II – Fire Alarm Systems.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree in Electronics or related field including equivalent military experience.
3-5 years relevant field service experience.
EST3 & 4 Certification.

Responsibilities

Installs, programs, tests, repairs, and services a variety of systems and equipment which may include security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation with guidance.
Acts as the primary interface for the provision of technical support and training for the customer, and is accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction.
Refers more complex issues to higher-level colleagues.
Works with Fire Alarm Designer to ensure fire alarm system meets all relevant codes and standards.
Works closely with the Project Manager and/or Operations Manager and assists in the overall coordination of specific projects.
Makes recommendations regarding quality of work and potential changes in scope.
Identifies ways to continuously improve customer experience.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested.
