About The Position

MCS is hiring for a Fire Alarm Programmer (Siemens Experience) in Orlando, FL. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits. The Fire Alarm Programmer must demonstrate a strong ability to configure, program, test, and troubleshoot fire alarm control systems in accordance with project specifications, life safety codes, and customer requirements. The Fire Alarm Programmer will require excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, technicians, inspectors, and AHJs. It is important that candidates stay current with industry trends, manufacturer software platforms, NFPA standards, and applicable government regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on experience programming, commissioning, testing, and servicing fire alarm systems.
  • Strong experience with Siemens fire alarm systems and associated programming software.
  • Extensive knowledge of fire alarm control panels, networked systems, voice evacuation systems, and emergency communication systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, riser diagrams, sequence of operations, and technical specifications.
  • Experience performing system commissioning, acceptance testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate company vehicles safely and responsibly is crucial.
  • Employees may be subject to periodic motor vehicle record checks, and any discrepancies may impact eligibility for the position.
  • A current passport is required for Overseas travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Factory certifications for Siemens fire alarm systems strongly preferred.
  • Additional manufacturer certifications such as Notifier, Fire-Lite, Edwards/EST, Gamewell-FCI, Simplex, or Silent Knight are highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, government, or mission-critical facilities is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Programming, configuring, and commissioning fire alarm control panels and associated devices based on approved project drawings and specifications.
  • Uploading, downloading, modifying, and maintaining fire alarm system databases and software configurations.
  • Conducting system testing and commissioning to verify communication between panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, and networked systems.
  • Performing acceptance testing and assisting with final inspections to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable codes.
  • Diagnosing and resolving programming issues, system faults, communication failures, and software/firmware-related problems.
  • Reviewing project plans, specifications, riser diagrams, and sequence of operations to ensure proper system functionality.
  • Creating and maintaining accurate documentation of programming changes, panel configurations, testing results, and commissioning records.
  • Assisting with system upgrades, retrofits, and networked fire alarm integrations.
