Fire Alarm Installer
About The Position
Responsible for installation, programming, and testing of fire alarm systems per project design drawings. This role involves interpreting blueprints, installing and programming control panels and equipment, mounting devices, and running conduit and wiring. The installer will also perform tasks such as drilling holes for cabling and accessing various building areas for optimal wiring. Additionally, the position requires identifying and repairing system troubles, testing all components, performing final acceptance testing with the AHJ, and producing reports to certify the installation.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nice To Haves
- Fire alarm and/or low voltage installation experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret fire alarm and electrical drawings and specifications.
- Review drawings and verify parts for job are accurate.
- Install and program fire alarm control panels and other equipment.
- Mount devices, install conduit (if applicable) and wiring to connect system components per design drawings and applicable building codes and standards.
- Perform all tasks associated with fire alarm installation, such as drilling holes for cabling and accessing locations such as crawlspaces or attics to ensure optimal wiring layouts.
- Identify and repair any troubles and test all devices and components to ensure proper operation.
- Perform final acceptance testing with the AHJ.
- Produce reports and other documentation to certify the installation of the system.
