About The Position
Responsible for leading and performing the installation, modification, and commissioning of fire alarm and life safety systems while supervising a crew of installers; ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and approved plans; serves as the primary on-site point of contact and is accountable for job quality, productivity, and crew performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- 4–7 years of fire alarm installation experience
- Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of fire alarm systems, components, and installation practices
- Ability to read blueprints, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics
- Experience with addressable systems (e.g., Notifier, Simplex, Edwards, Siemens, Honeywell, Bosch)
- Microsoft Office applications, Word & Excel
Nice To Haves
- NICET or other fire alarm certifications preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead the installation of fire alarm systems including addressable and conventional panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, power supplies, and wiring.
- Read, interpret, and execute work based on approved drawings, specifications, and submittals.
- Perform device mounting, wire pulling, terminations, labeling, and system programming support (as applicable).
- Conduct system testing, pre-testing, and commissioning activities prior to AHJ inspections.
- Troubleshoot system issues, verify device operation, and correct deficiencies.
- Supervise and direct installers on job sites.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
- Train and mentor less experienced technicians in proper installation methods and code compliance.
- Complete daily reports, time tracking, and material usage documentation.
