About The Position

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven Fire Alarm Inspector to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will assist with the testing and inspection of fire-alarm systems in assigned buildings. You will help to identify and report any problems or deficiencies found in the systems you inspect. This is a customer-facing role, one that is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction, safety, and quality assurance on all assigned projects. Requirements

  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
  • Solid test and inspection skills and experience fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
  • To be a self-starter and work well with minimal supervision.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and test tools such as SOLO equipment, screwdriver, wire stripper, crimper)
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and proficient in other relevant applications like Building Reports.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis.
  • Minimal overnight travel may be required.
  • Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Experience: 1-2 years relevant
  • Expert competency in the following areas: Fire Alarm Systems NFPA Other Specialized Systems

Responsibilities

  • Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
  • Takes ownership of onsite project including safety, quality, and performance.
  • Test and inspect commercial fire-alarm systems within assigned buildings.
  • Familiar with basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine testing procedures unassisted, may require assistance with more complex specifications.
  • Interprets manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools.
  • Operates systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance and identify malfunctions.
  • Identify and report problems or discrepancies found in the systems you inspect.
  • Performs all work in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with all inspections and testing.
  • Monitor the fire-alarm panel.
  • Interact with building owner or building engineer prior to, during, and following completion of the testing process.
  • Review reports and initiate next steps as necessary.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Works closely with the Service Supervisor, Field Team Lead and/or Coordinators and assists in the overall coordination of specific inspections; makes recommendations regarding quality of work and potential changes in scope and identifies ways to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
