About The Position

Alarm Inspection & Maintenance Services Inc. is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Inspector specializing in fire life safety systems. This role focuses on the inspection, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of networked fire alarm systems, while supporting integrated security and building systems to ensure all systems remain compliant with applicable codes and standards.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with fire alarm inspection, testing, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of fire life safety systems and applicable codes
  • Ability to troubleshoot low-voltage fire alarm systems using diagnostic tools
  • Experience organizing and utilizing technical resources, materials, and information efficiently
  • Strong communication skills with customers, dispatch, and internal teams
  • Ability to work independently and manage service priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with access control and CCTV systems
  • Programming experience with networked fire alarm systems
  • Understanding of integrated security and building systems

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, monitoring, and installation of fire alarm systems
  • Inspect and maintain fire alarm and sprinkler systems to ensure systems are up to code
  • Install, program, configure, commission, and service fire alarm systems, including panel repair and reprogramming
  • Troubleshoot system issues including ground faults, shorts, and open circuits using digital multi-meters
  • Replace and repair devices; resolve low-voltage circuit and system issues
  • Perform installation and programming on integrated fire alarm, security, access control, and CCTV systems
  • Supervise and inspect installations to ensure compliance with customer and contract specifications
  • Respond to customer service calls promptly; troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently
  • Communicate with central dispatch regarding work order status and outstanding service items
  • Participate in an after-hours, on-call service rotation
  • Complete and submit all required service documentation, reports, and productivity records accurately and on time
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittits, specifications, and product manuals
  • Complete required internal and external certification and training courses
