About The Position

First Internet Bank provides paid internship opportunities designed to give students hands-on experience in a professional banking environment and real-world exposure to financial technology, innovation, and strategic partnerships. As the Fintech Partnerships Intern you will support the Fintech Partnerships team through research, analysis, collaboration, and project work that contributes to the Bank’s fintech strategy and partnership initiatives. You will work alongside team members and business leaders to evaluate technologies, support partnership opportunities, and gain insight into how financial institutions collaborate with external technology providers. Specific training, projects, systems, and learning objectives will be defined through a department-specific onboarding plan.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Technology Management, Marketing, Information Systems, Sales, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in financial technology, innovation, banking, startups, partnerships, strategy, or business development.
  • Strong analytical, research, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with leaders, partners, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Interest in working at the intersection of finance, technology, and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the responsibilities, processes, and strategic objectives of the Fintech Partnerships function through structured training, observation, and hands-on assignments.
  • Research emerging technologies, industry trends, fintech solutions, and competitive developments within banking and financial services.
  • Assist with analysis and evaluation of potential fintech partnership opportunities.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders across the Bank to support strategic initiatives and business objectives.
  • Gather, organize, validate, and analyze information to support decision-making and partnership evaluations.
  • Assist with preparing presentations, reports, business cases, meeting materials, and executive summaries.
  • Participate in meetings with fintech partners, internal stakeholders, and industry contacts, as appropriate to the assignment.
  • Support project management activities, documentation, meeting coordination, and initiative tracking.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations related to innovation, customer experience, operational efficiency, and strategic growth opportunities.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, curiosity, analytical thinking, adaptability, and strong communication skills.
  • Perform other duties and complete additional learning assignments as requested.
