About The Position

At STELIA North America, we are offering the opportunity for a career that is out of this world! We are looking for someone to join our Production Team in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. An affiliate of the Airbus Group of Companies, STELIA is an aerospace and defence company specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of composite components and assemblies. Headquartered in Lunenburg, NS, and with a site in Mirabel, QC, we operate more than 150,000 sq feet of facilities dedicated to operations, manufacturing and administration. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Finishing Technician is part of a multi-disciplined team responsible for the preparation, sanding, stamping, priming and top coating of composite parts. We operate in a day shift environment with further opportunities for evening and back shift. This schedule allows for a mix of daytime and evening hours, making it ideal for those who appreciate a structured yet flexible routine. The Finishing Technician embraces a culture defined by safety, quality, teamwork, and accountability. The Finishing Technician is an organized individual with high attention to detail who is a motivated quick learner. In this role, you will work in one or more finishing areas focusing on parts stamping, sanding, or painting.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent experience)
  • 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
  • Manual dexterity/coordination with the ability to use of power tools, cutting tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and/or blueprints while following demonstrated steps.
  • Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in various units of measure.
  • Ability to meet physical demands which include lifting and moving material weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a similar role or boat and autobody repair operation would be a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and finish parts per work instructions and specifications (including but not limited to): washing, sanding, taping, crack filling, stenciling, masking, and painting.
  • Perform self-quality checks.
  • Identify nonconforming parts, conditions, and manufacturing processes.
  • Record results per work instructions where required.
  • Meet schedule and production requirements.
