About The Position

As a Finishing Technician in the community of Morris Village in Rockland, you are responsible for satisfying the time and cost commitments to complete homes, pass city inspections, and maximize customer satisfaction through minimal deficiencies. This is a physically demanding position which will require you to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. This is a vacant position supporting the community of Morris Village in Rockland however the Finishing Technician may be required to travel to other Cardel construction sites, as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in warranty services, residential and/or commercial construction, renovations, repairs, or a skilled trade.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.
  • Strong understanding of Tarion Warranty Program requirements and Construction Performance Guidelines (CPG).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials required to perform repair and service work.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships with homeowners.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver's license with access to a personal vehicle.
  • Must possess and maintain own tools required for the role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with completing homes prior to closing and performing warranty repairs and service work after homeowner occupancy.
  • Conduct visual inspections of warranty-related issues and homeowner concerns.
  • Assess deficiencies, as reported on scheduled Tarion warranty forms, and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Schedule and coordinate additional services with subcontractors and trades.
  • Perform hands-on repairs, including drywall patching, painting, rough carpentry, and other deficiency-related work as required.
  • Ensure all warranty and deficiency items are resolved in accordance with Tarion Construction Performance Guidelines (CPG).
  • Maintain positive, professional, and service-oriented relationships with homeowners.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple warranty service activities to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and homeowner communications.
