About The Position

Join Pratt & Whitney's Columbus Forge team as a Finishing Working Lead and play a key role in leading daily operations that support some of the world's most advanced aerospace products. In this hands-on leadership role, you will provide technical expertise, support daily production activities, troubleshoot process challenges, and help develop team members while ensuring safety, quality, and delivery requirements are met. This is a 2nd Shift position: Start Day – End Day, 4:00 pm - 2:30 am.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6+ years of manufacturing experience, technical or military training, or military training experience
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems.

Nice To Haves

• Previous leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Technical or vocational training in a manufacturing-related field.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, perform shop math, and use precision measuring tools.
• Basic computer skills and experience with manufacturing systems.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily Finishing operations by coordinating workflow, supporting production priorities, and ensuring safety, quality, and delivery goals are met.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members while partnering with supervisors on scheduling, training, and career development.
• Perform hands-on manufacturing work as needed, including reading blueprints, following work instructions, and using precision measuring tools.
• Track work in process, lead tier meetings, order tools and supplies, and support other daily administrative activities.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance needs through ANDON Systems or MTS and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with all environmental, health, and safety policies while performing other duties to support business needs.
