About The Position

This position is responsible for identifying manufacturing defects on cores and repairing them by patching or trimming. The operator will use an air gun with a diamond tool to trim flash, die lines, and cut tie bars on all cores. Key responsibilities include handling cores with care, following Standard Operating Procedures, producing parts within set standards, identifying core defects, and maintaining accurate records. A 100% visual inspection is required before working on cores. The role also involves identifying and patching negatives on low-pressure cores, removing die lines, poking holes, making dimensional checks, applying tac wax, microblasting glass rods, and correctly disposing of blue dye cores. Additionally, the operator must identify cracks and voids, trim flash, die lines, and remove tie bars on low-pressure cores, run the dip process when needed, maintain accurate documentation, and adhere to all safety procedures and housekeeping standards. Other duties may be assigned by supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Identify manufacturing defects on cores
  • Patch or trim cores to repair defects
  • Use air gun with diamond tool to trim flash, trim die line and cut tie bars on all cores
  • Handle a variety of cores with care
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedure for Finishing
  • Stamp Identification on cores
  • Produce quantities within set standards of each part number
  • Identify core defects
  • Maintain accurate records (routers, CQCS, etc.)
  • Perform 100% visual inspection before working on cores
  • Identify negatives on all low-pressure cores and patch according to procedure
  • Remove die lines and excess Ludox Poke Holes per QEI
  • Make dimensional checks of holes and slots
  • Apply tac wax
  • Microblast glass rods
  • Correctly complete and disposition blue dye cores
  • Identify cracks and voids on all cores and patch according to procedure
  • Use air gun with diamond tool and/or hand tools to trim flash, trim die line and cut and remove tie bars on all low-pressure cores
  • Run dip process when needed
  • Maintain accurate records/documentation and eventually enter information into computer
  • Follow and adhere to all safety procedures
  • Maintain department standards for housekeeping/6S
  • Other duties as assigned by supervision
