This position is responsible for identifying manufacturing defects on cores and repairing them by patching or trimming. The operator will use an air gun with a diamond tool to trim flash, die lines, and cut tie bars on all cores. Key responsibilities include handling cores with care, following Standard Operating Procedures, producing parts within set standards, identifying core defects, and maintaining accurate records. A 100% visual inspection is required before working on cores. The role also involves identifying and patching negatives on low-pressure cores, removing die lines, poking holes, making dimensional checks, applying tac wax, microblasting glass rods, and correctly disposing of blue dye cores. Additionally, the operator must identify cracks and voids, trim flash, die lines, and remove tie bars on low-pressure cores, run the dip process when needed, maintain accurate documentation, and adhere to all safety procedures and housekeeping standards. Other duties may be assigned by supervision.
