This is an entry level production position in our rolling mill finishing department. Requirements

• The desire to learn new roles and grow with the company.
• 1-3 years of industrial or manufacturing experience using hand tools.
• The ability to work a Dupont 4/3, rotating 12-hr schedule including days, nights, & two weekends a month.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Ability to interpret instructions and to use adjustable controls in regulating the continuous process using measuring instruments and gauges.
• General math skills, advanced problem-solving, and ability to multi-task.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required. If you do not have a HS Diploma or GED, you will need to successfully pass an entrance exam.
• Experience operating an overhead crane and forklift preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, proper equipment operation, and housekeeping.
• Assist in the operations of the straightening, cutting, and stacking areas in the finishing end of the rolling mill.
• Work safely in a production environment.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations for the plant and area.
• Ensure all scrap is cut and cleaned up as needed to allow continued operations.
• Ensure housekeeping in the area is always up to standard during the shift.
• Perform reworks and downtime cleaning as available.
• Assist in repairs as needed.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks during planned downtime.
• Assist in blade changes on the cold saws and shear when required.
• Assist in straightener roll changes as required.
• Perform crane inspections at the beginning of each shift for the south finishing crane.
• Cross-train at next promotion level position. (Receive higher position job pay once fully trained and capable, when filling in at cross-trained position).
