About The Position

California Faucets is looking to bring on a talented Finishing Manager. This role is based on site in our Huntington Beach, CA facility. The hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, full-time from 9:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. California Faucets offers over 30 finishes to its customers. Our product is not mass-produced and is made with artisan hands. All our brass fixtures require various forms of metal finishing to achieve the high standards and quality craftsmanship we are known for. The Finishing department is a critical area within the company and has a direct impact on the quality and quantity of products that California Faucets provides to its customers. The Finishing Manager is responsible for setting the example, teaching, and guiding a team of 30-35 direct reports across both shifts to successfully perform operations within the Finishing and Plating departments. Primary responsibilities include assigning and directing work, interviewing, and hiring candidates to fill open positions, training, completing the appraisal of employee performance, ensuring safety practices are being followed, resolving conflicts, and continuously improving processes and procedures within the department.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently. Spanish fluency is highly desired.

  • Ability to comply with and ensure team members comply with all safety regulations including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business or related field and/or at least seven (7) to ten (10) years of manufacturing experience in rapidly growing businesses.
  • At least three (3) years of management level experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Experience managing a team of at least 30 employees.
  • Strong Lean Manufacturing experience and toolkit.
  • Familiarity and experience with ERP, MRP, or WMS systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and all Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish fluency is highly desired.
  • Experience in Chrome Plating – highly desired.
  • At least two (2) years of powder coating and polishing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day functions to the Finishing, Plating, and Laboratory departments.
  • Oversee all laboratory functions while mentoring lab technician to ensure adherence to established protocols and best practices.
  • Develop and train team members to enhance performance, safety, and compliance.
  • Implement new procedures to enhance performance and productivity.
  • Investigate and resolve unexpected issues reported by team members.
  • Encourage teamwork and open, constructive dialogue among colleagues.
  • Coordinate efforts with other departments throughout the organization to complete products in a timely manner.
  • Plan the layout of the assigned work area.
  • Manage employee work schedules, approving/denying time off requests, and managing time and attendance using payroll software.
  • Perform annual performance reviews and making personnel and pay recommendations to management.
  • Embodies a safety culture that drives the organization to achieve the goal of zero accidents.
  • Work closely with maintenance to ensure finishing equipment such as the sandblasting machine, the polishing machine, and the powder coating spray booth are operational.
  • Performing additional assignments per management direction.
