Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, this position performs a variety of machine operation duties within the manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include operating finishing equipment such as perch, calendar, singer, and stenterframe machines, as well as welding sleeves, punching rings, slitting, and cutting. The role may also provide support in the needle board area as required. This role has been created to cover a current vacancy within the team.

Requirements

  • Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma (minimum); post-secondary education is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using ERP systems for scanning work orders and entering job data.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Health and safety conscious with the ability to minimize workplace risk.
  • Flexibility to work shifts with varying start and end times.

Responsibilities

  • Operate finishing equipment to perform heat setting, coating, and inspection processes in accordance with ISO standards.
  • Conduct pre-use inspections and set up machinery as per layouts to complete finishing of fabrics.
  • Set up inspection equipment to identify and mark defects in slit rolled goods.
  • Operate small equipment for fabricated goods, including DILO, resin treating, welded sleeves, punch press, slitting, and cutting.
  • Record and enter production data into ERP systems using scanners and computers.
  • Perform basic maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on equipment.
  • Provide cross-functional support across various areas of the manufacturing facility.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
  • Follow all company and departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships in a team environment.
