About The Position

The Assistant Machine Operator position is responsible to support the efficient operation of high speed corrugate equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure that all equipment is used and maintained in a safe manner, set-up print and die cut sections in accordance with customer requirements, and to continuously monitor the quality of the product.

Requirements

• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Quality Control Procedures.
• Ability to work in an environment that is continuously changing and improving
• Attention to detail, quality and safety is a must
• Must be able to work with a team of people across different functional areas as well as an individual
• Ability to engage in routine walking, standing, bending and carry items weight up to 40 lbs plus for extended periods of time
• Ability to read production plans (dockets or spec packs) to ensure each production run is being completed as required
• Effectively communicate with others in a way that builds team work and collaboration
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
• Maintain and high level of trust and integrity
• Proficient use of the English language (Reading, Writing, Speaking)

Nice To Haves

• Valid Forklift license is considered to be an asset
• WMS and Microsoft Office Suite knowledge is considered an asset
• Previous experience in the packaging industry is considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup and general housekeeping of corrugate equipment
• Setup and change product materials in accordance with the production plan
• Continuously maintain or exceed production efficiency goals
• Provide Quality Inspectors with product samples for inspection
• Preparing and palletizing skids of finished product
• Follow and practice all GMP’s, HACCP and SQF protocols
• Work in accordance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
• Ensures and supports to make sure Food safety, Quality, HACCP and GMP is always followed
