About The Position

The Filters Finishing team is currently looking for a Finishing Associate II – Machining for its optical filter manufacturing operations. The right person will become an integral member of the Finishing production team. Key success criteria for this position are customer satisfaction as measured by product quality, on-time delivery, and high productivity. In this role, you will manufacture custom optical filters that meet precise specifications. The ideal candidate has experience in glass fabrication and CNC machining. Requirements

  • Demonstrate knowledge in the operation of CNC mills or dicing saws
  • Ability to perform optical inspection and metrology using micrometers and other measurement tools
  • Familiarity with optical manufacturing terminology and processes
  • Work effectively on a team to meet production deadlines
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Three of more years experience in CNC machining or optical fabrication
  • Excels at performing repetitive tasks
  • Able to learn new skills and job functions
  • Proficient mathematics skills – add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Visual acuity and the ability to distinguish chromatic colors
  • Very good manual dexterity
  • Requires standing for extended periods and handling delicate optical components.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly workstation
  • Able to work overtime as production schedules requires

Responsibilities

  • Machine various glass optics using CNC milling machines
  • Analyze a variety of specifications and make adjustments to meet customer requirements as necessary
  • Execute beveling of glass optics
  • Recommend changes to support production and continuous improvement
  • Assist in the training of others
  • Comply with all health, safety, and PPE requirements
  • Support company values through ethical conduct and integrity in all actions
