We are searching for a Finishing and Packaging General Foreman to join our largest plant operations in Newburgh, Indiana!

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing an industrial environment with responsibility for labor issues, preferably in a union environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands on experience in Lean Manufacturing, ISO, Six Sigma is a plus.
  • A working knowledge of flat-rolled sheet finishing process including: reverse roll coating or painting, slitting, electro-coating or electro-plating, material handling and packaging equipment systems is desired.
  • BS Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Business or other 4 year technical degree (EET or MET) highly preferred.
  • This is a development position for a future superintendent where a BS Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Business or other 4 year technical degree (EET or MET) may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the 24/7 operation of the crews in their respective area and participate in projects in other areas.
  • Accountable for Environmental, Health, and Safety results, productivity improvements, employee development, maximizing the value of diversity, and customer delivery through implementation of Lean manufacturing principles, including Kaizen, Daily Management, TPM, 5S, Problem Solving, etc.
  • Ensure consistent implementation and execution of policies and systems in order to guarantee customer (internal and external) expectations are met at the lowest cost and always with safety at the forefront of every activity.
  • Work within Department Lead Teams and with peers in other departments to assure overall plant success.
  • Work to ensure the execution of any of the financial goals and expectations set for each respective year.
  • Responsible for planning and sometimes leading Kaizens, TPM, and safety events in his/her their areas.
  • Responsible for coaching and counseling front-line supervisors and any other staff personnel in his/her Pack Ship area or as assigned.
  • Participate in annual development of area objectives and leading performance toward those goals.
  • Actively participating in the development of departmental A3 - Setting, executing, and reporting 30-60-90 day plans in support of the departmental A3.
  • Actively participating in the development of the department's annual budget and controlling R&M and other costs.
  • Ensuring daily management systems are developed, implemented, and maintained so as to facilitate appropriate focus on the department’s objectives, performance, and improvements being made.
  • Plan and execute TPM activities.
  • Control operating expenses, repair & maintenance, and other costs associated with area.
  • Collaborate with internal customers and suppliers to maintain both Preferred Supplier and Preferred Customer status.
  • Work with outside carriers and vendors to leverage both opportunity and value.
  • Foster and develop a recognition-based culture that celebrates diverse unity and mission accomplishment, in service of remaining a Preferred Employer.
