About The Position

SPIROL is a global manufacturer seeking a Finisher for their 3rd shift team in Killingly, Connecticut. The Finisher will be responsible for all finishing processes, including washing (automatic and tumbling) and oiling. This role requires operating equipment in compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations and SPIROL's safety rules. The Finisher must ensure equipment and materials are clean to prevent product contamination, verify processing temperatures, and follow Job Card and Product Drawing instructions for all product processing. They will also review work orders to ensure all steps are completed and signed off before moving to the next operation. The role involves meeting performance standards, operating multiple processes simultaneously, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Classroom or on-the-job training in environmental management including hazardous waste material
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Mathematical proficiency
  • Must be able to lift 70 lbs. using approved lifting techniques

Responsibilities

  • Perform all finishing processes including Washing (Automatic and Tumbling), Oiling, etc.
  • Operate equipment and department in compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations and SPIROL general safety rules.
  • Verify that all equipment, containers, processing baskets and drums are clean, free of debris or other products, and will not contribute to contamination of products.
  • Verify that the temperatures to be used are within acceptable levels prior to processing any product.
  • Review the Job Card and Product Drawing to ensure that the product is processed per the routing instructions and that all special notes and/or instructions are followed.
  • Process product in accordance with work instructions.
  • Notify supervisor immediately if there are any questions.
  • Review the work order to ensure that all prior routing steps are signed off, all containers are identified and that all requirements are met upon completion of the job.
  • Sign off on the job if acceptable and move on to the next operation (dock audit, sorting).
  • Meet or exceed the standards of performance for all finishing operations.
  • Operate several processes at once under normal situations.
  • Practice good housekeeping and maintain a clean organized, uncluttered work area, which is free of hazards at all times.
