Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, Business Operations or related field. An equivalent amount of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in automotive finished vehicle operations or transportation management, with a proven track record of leading teams.
  • Knowledge of vehicle logistics outbound processes, including transportation regulations, best practices and safety protocol.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple complex projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to analyze, correct/ report operational status.
  • Responsible for preparing and executing contingent plans to meet organizational targets.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Collaborative team-player with strong interpersonal skills able to work with internal and external teams, third party and vendors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and transportation management software.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues into common language for the organization.

  • Knowledge of automotive regulations and compliance standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day and launch-phase Vehicle Logistics Control operations, ensuring finished vehicles move safely, efficiently, and on schedule from manufacturing through outbound staging, loading, and dispatch.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Vehicle Logistics Control team, including staffing plans, training, performance management, capability building, and adherence to standard work.
  • Establish, document, and continuously improve logistics control processes, operating standards, escalation routines, and performance controls to support production readiness and operational stability.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment with Production Steering, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, Accessory Center, carrier partners, and other internal and external stakeholders to resolve constraints and protect vehicle flow.
  • Manage operational performance through KPIs, reporting, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives that improve throughput, cost, quality, and delivery reliability.
  • Own planning and execution for vehicle dispatch to truck and rail in alignment with production plans, outbound requirements, carrier capacity, and business priorities.
  • Build and sustain a safety-first and compliance-driven culture by ensuring team readiness, required training, regulatory adherence, and consistent execution of company policies and operating procedures.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor the Vehicle Logistics Control budget, identifying opportunities to control cost, improve efficiency, and support financial targets.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company requirements related to finished vehicle transportation, yard operations, documentation, audits, and internal validation activities.
  • Prepare for and support audits, LPC, BMS, and other operational reviews by maintaining clear documentation, validating process effectiveness, and closing gaps as needed.
  • Identify risks, disruptions, and process failures early; lead escalation, contingency planning, and recovery actions to minimize impact to production, delivery, and business commitments.
  • Communicate operational status, risks, decisions, and performance results clearly to leadership, business partners, and external stakeholders through recurring updates and management reporting.
