About The Position

The Finished Products Operator is responsible for safely forming a pulp sheet, cutting, preparing, packaging and loading the product on either railcars or trucks to ship the product to our customers. You will operate a high-speed cutter, bale line, presses, stacker, clamp trucks, a locomotive, run lab tests, perform basic equipment care and potentially run a pulp machine. This is a team-based position that works in a structured learning environment to meet production goals. Team members must be improvement focused, willing to work toward unit goals and find achieving results rewarding. The successful candidate will thrive in a team environment and enjoy routine expectations. The Grande Prairie mill is an 1100+ tonne per day Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft pulp mill, employees approximately 400 mill employees in a 24-hour operation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform duties with little supervision
  • Proactive approach to troubleshooting/problem identification
  • Able to perform physically demanding work
  • Demonstrated safety awareness
  • The ability to work closely with others in a team environment.
