Location: Brantford, ON The Finished Product Technician is to ensure that the finished product is handled, packaged and prepared in accordance with company procedure while maintaining the highest level of Quality Assurance.

Requirements

  • A Great Attitude!
  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Strong computer skills. Familiar with MS Word, Excel, etc.
  • Background in quality testing methodology
  • Familiar with ISO and Lean Manufacturing processes

Nice To Haves

  • Post Secondary in related discipline an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for collecting and retaining samples of materials and finished products.
  • Responsible for conducting the visual inspection and dimensional measurements of finished products.
  • Responsible for entering measurements and/or observations into data collection software.
  • Responsible for maintaining a record of events which may affect product quality.
  • Responsible to inform the Process Technicians immediately of any defects.
  • Responsible for alerting the Shift Leader and/or plant management to outstanding issues.
  • Responsible for the disposition of finished product according to Amhil’s quality standards.
  • Responsible to ensure that the correct packaging is used for each product, and that the packaging meets Amhil’s quality standards.
  • Responsible to ensure that finished product is palletized correctly.
  • Responsible to ensure that finished product is correctly labeled with license plates and date codes to establish traceability.
  • Responsible for clearing the lines of finished product and packaging during changeovers, and for preparing unused packaging to be transferred to the warehouse.
  • Responsible to maintain personal and working sanitation standards in all aspects of assigned tasks.
  • Responsible to uphold Amhil’s food safety standards and follow all SQF-related procedures to prevent product contamination.
  • Responsible to ensure that their working area is kept clean, orderly and safe.
  • Assist with the housekeeping and the sanitation around the plant when requested.
  • Assist with removing scrap product and/or sheet from the line and grind when time allows.
  • Assist in the relief of other team members and temporary associates for breaks/ lunch.
  • Other relevant duties as may be assigned by management.
  • Conduct all work in a safe manner, think safety first.
  • Ensure that all the safety policies and procedures are followed and communicated to all members of your team.
  • Report and communicate any unsafe practices or working conditions encountered to other team members as well as to your supervisor.
