About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Finish Skid Steer Operator to join our team. This role involves operating a skid steer to perform precision grading, site preparation, and surface finishing on a variety of construction projects. The successful candidate will be safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating a skid steer in a construction environment, with a focus on fine grading and finishing.
  • Strong understanding of grades, slopes, elevations, and finishing techniques.
  • Ability to read and follow site plans, grade stakes, and project requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe operating practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in asphalt paving, gravel work, concrete preparation, earthworks, or civil construction is considered an asset.
  • Ground Disturbance Level II certification is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a skid steer with precision to perform fine grading, finishing, and surface preparation.
  • Work on civil construction projects, including roadways, subdivisions, parking lots, and infrastructure developments.
  • Follow grade stakes, elevations, and project specifications to achieve accurate finished surfaces.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks.
  • Report mechanical issues, equipment deficiencies, and safety concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, labourers, surveyors, and other equipment operators to meet project schedules and quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area while adhering to all applicable safety regulations and procedures.
  • Assist with general construction duties and support site operations as required.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently in varying weather and site conditions.
