The Finish Service Trucker is responsible for operating lift trucks safely and effectively. This role involves learning which product lines to send product through and understanding strapping patterns. The individual will ensure loads are properly strapped with appropriate dunnage according to instructions and any customer-specific requests. During the strapping operation, responsibilities include loading strapping onto the machine, cleaning heads, monitoring strap patterns, determining the number of straps per unit, identifying box problems, and reporting any issues to the supervisor. As a lift truck operator, duties also include sweeping trailers and floor areas, completing daily safety checklists, changing propane tanks, checking fluid levels and air filters on the lift truck, monitoring the take-off line for strapping processes, and loading material onto designated trucks, including recording load tallies. The role also involves transporting product from the take-off line to various warehouse areas. Additionally, the Finish Service Trucker will load warehoused product from the warehouse to the loading dock, receive incoming trucks, sign for received product, and transport it to different departments. All necessary paperwork must be submitted to the shipping office. The Corrugator Service Trucker will rotate through strapper positions, take-off line lift truck operations, and floor driver lift truck operations.
