About The Position

This position is for a Finish Painter on the Second Shift, working Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The role involves preparing surfaces and applying paint and other finishes to manufactured products and buildings using brushes or power equipment. Responsibilities include mixing paint to the correct color and consistency, labeling and storing paint and chemicals properly, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and inspecting finished surfaces. The job requires performing daily/weekly TPM tasks with accuracy and consistency, working with minimum supervision, and performing other duties as assigned by a supervisor. Finish Painters are required to spend at least twenty percent of their work week on painting duties.

Requirements

• Six thousand (6,000) hours of experience required to perform work, attain skills necessary.
• A vocational or high school education or equivalent is required plus on-the-job training to learn trade techniques and procedures.
• Employees in this classification must adhere to the requirements set forth in the Inventory Security Policy.
• Must be a sole US Citizen

Responsibilities

• Follows manufacturer’s instructions to mix paint materials, etc. to proper color and consistency.
• Prepare surfaces and properly apply paint and other finishes to surfaces of manufactured products, building, etc., with brush or power equipment.
• Properly label and store paint and chemicals.
• Clean, maintain and store applicators, supplies and materials.
• Inspect finished surfaces for proper appearance and use to determine paint build thickness.
• Perform daily/weekly TPM tasks with accuracy and consistency.
• Performs other duties as designated by supervisor in the same salary grade or below.
