Requirements

  • Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Proficient in reading and writing English in order to follow special instructions and directions.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Willing and able to work seven days per week.
  • Good physical condition to move buggies and T frames.
  • Willing to obtain PIT operator license.

Responsibilities

  • Watch fabric as it exits the finishing range, making sure it comes out straight without bow or bias.
  • Ensure cloth is drying properly.
  • Inform the coater operator of any problems with fabric or finish (e.g., streaking).
  • Measure coating to ensure correct width.
  • Perform oil tests on Teflon coating where applicable and advise the coater operator if the test fails.
  • Stamp process and date on tickets.
  • Verify that tickets and piece numbers match the fabric.
  • Send or take fabric to a roll-up (post inspector) and inform them of any rush orders needing immediate inspection.
  • Clean the range on a regular schedule as directed by the supervisor.
  • Assist the coater operator.
  • Operate equipment properly.
  • Report malfunctions or maintenance concerns to the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.
  • Report all job-related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
  • Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
  • Maintain 5 S standards.
