Finish Excavator Operator - Lake Country, BC
About The Position
Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, with over 50 years’ experience, involved in civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction. The company is looking for a Finish Excavator Operator in the Lake Country area. This is a full-time, project-based role with a schedule of 10+ hours per day, 6 days a week, with overtime after 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week. The position requires a hard-working, reliable individual who is flexible with their schedule and able to work in physically demanding conditions.
Requirements
- Personal Reliable Vehicle
- CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
- Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
- Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience as a Excavator operator
- Experience with finishing work (sloping, leveling) required
Responsibilities
- Safe operation of Excavator as it pertains to stripping, ditching, sloping, leveling
- Operate Excavator in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
