The Fine Arts Computer Lab Monitor is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and smooth operation of the Fine Arts computer labs (Adrian 216, 217, and 218). This includes maintaining vigilance at all times, contacting the Public Safety Department in cases of emergencies, suspicious activity, or unauthorized individuals, and reporting any unoccupied and unlocked studios. The Lab Monitor also helps maintain an orderly, respectful, and productive environment where students can focus on their creative work. In addition to safety oversight, the Lab Monitor provides students—primarily in Visual Arts, Graphic Design, and Photography—with technical support on software and equipment such as Adobe Creative Suite, printers, and scanners. While they assist with technical troubleshooting and project needs, Lab Monitors are not responsible for teaching content, or evaluating/critiquing the artistic or academic content of student work. Their role is to support student success by ensuring the labs remain secure, functional, and welcoming spaces for creativity and learning.
