About The Position

The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore is seeking a Financial Wellness Senior Associate to launch and implement an initiative to foster financial wellness within the Jewish community. This role is part of an effort to support individuals and families experiencing economic vulnerability. The Associated is a leading Jewish community organization focused on delivering community services, building community, providing security, fighting antisemitism, delivering humanitarian services, creating Jewish engagement opportunities, and connecting Jewish Baltimore with Israel and the world. The Senior Associate will implement a five-point plan to empower financial wellness, addressing food insecurity, offering financial education, reducing stigma, enhancing awareness of financial vulnerability, fostering accessible Jewish life, and enhancing workforce development. This grant-funded position is a key member of the Associated’s Community Planning and Allocations team and will engage communal partners to assist the 24% of households in Jewish Baltimore experiencing economic vulnerability and empower them towards sustained financial wellness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Three to five years work-related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of human services, particularly economic vulnerability and anti-poverty work.
  • A passion for helping empower community members in need.
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Experience in launching and implementing new programs.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information is required.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines and priorities is required.
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in a team setting is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a five-point plan to foster financial wellness in the Jewish community.
  • Address food insecurity, offer financial education across the lifespan, reduce stigma, enhance awareness of financial vulnerability, foster accessible Jewish life, and enhance workforce development.
  • Understand Jewish communal needs, analyze data, and develop partnerships with local and national communal partners.
  • Launch and implement strategies to address Jewish economic vulnerability.
  • Supervise a part-time Associate.
  • Create marketing and evaluation strategies with colleagues.
  • Represent The Associated.
  • Implement Jewish Economic Vulnerability strategies.
  • Supervise part-time Associate to assist with financial education across the lifespan.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the scope of financial wellness services within the Associated network.
  • Develop strong relationships within the Associated system.
  • Collaborate with synagogues, schools, and other organizations to further The Associated’s initiative to address Jewish economic vulnerability.
  • Provide regular communications with relevant information to lay and professional leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.
