About The Position

WECU is seeking a Financial Wellness Representative to join our Community Impact department in Bellingham, WA. This role directly supports WECU’s ongoing Community Impact efforts by promoting financial wellness and education, including service to underserved communities through educational presentations to community groups and schools and commitment to internal and external initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in banking/finance with demonstrable knowledge of financial literacy.
  • Demonstrated background in public speaking or public relations required.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Strong storytelling, writing, analysis, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both with direction and independently.
  • Accurate writing skills, stressing composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical knowledge and experience with html, graphic design and copy writing preferred.
  • Understanding of social media and digital marketing best practices a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with colleges, high schools, and community groups; coordinate scheduling and event details.
  • Plan and deliver classes and presentations (in person/online) at schools, nonprofits and community events.
  • Capture attendance/feedback and provide timely inputs for reporting and dashboards.
  • Provide internal support to employees surrounding financial wellness and serving the underserved initiatives.
  • Coordinate WECU’s First Step Visa program and required learning curriculum.
  • Assist in planning and execution of Community Impact events and support community/product-level campaigns as needed.
  • Develop, execute, track and report on community impact and product-level campaigns and budget reconciliation.
  • Collect and analyze data via business intelligence and other economic indicators in the development and maintenance of financial wellness and underserved community outcomes.
  • Assist in writing, design, and production of member/employee resources (e.g., financial education presentations, newsletter and intranet content, and training documents for varied uses/purposes).
  • Assist with vendor coordination and inventory of community impact supplies.
  • Follows WECU’s policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and may also assist others to complete tasks and work assignments.
