About The Position
Responsible for the development, implementation, analysis and maintenance of business systems impacting the general ledger. Completes journal entries and account reconciliations related to the business system processes. Establishes and maintains accounting policies and control within the general ledger.
Requirements
- Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training.
Responsibilities
- Represents the department in providing recommendations related to projects that impact the ledger which includes requirements, report building, assisting in testing and implementation.
- Reviews or completes account reconciliations, interface balancing, and the processing of journal entries in an accurate and timely manner.
- Updates and maintains close schedules to keep Controllers on track to meet the financial reporting deadlines.
- Completes analysis regarding processes, systems, or other inquiries from internal/external departments and provides feedback or recommendations.
- Evaluates the operating efficiencies of systems, procedures, and workflow related to accounting operations for the department. Makes recommendations and implements any improvements identified.
- Serves as the accounting department liaison to Technology regarding business systems.
- Trains staff on financial transactions that occur within these business systems.
