The New Jersey Judiciary, Monmouth Vicinage is seeking a self-directed, organized, analytical administrative professional to work under the Court Executive 2B (Finance Division Manager) or other supervisory personnel. The selected candidate's primary responsibilities will be in the areas of budgeting, accounts payable, and system and financial reconciliations. This individual will analyze and interpret accounting and financial data; provide cross-training to co-workers; write user documents or manuals; participate in meetings and perform other support duties as required. The successful candidate must have the ability to work on and prioritize multiple assignments; establish workflows and procedures; effectively manage time and meet deadlines; and participate as a positive member of a professional team.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 21 credit hours in accounting, business administration, economics, public administration and/or finance.
  • Twelve of these credit hours must be in accounting
  • Three years of professional accounting, finance, auditing and/or budgeting experience.
  • Applicants who do not possess the required education, but do possess the 21 accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, and/or finance credit hours, including 12 accounting credit hours, may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
  • A master's degree in business or public administration, economics, accounting or finance may be substituted for one year of general experience
  • A CPA designation may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above.
  • College or university transcript is required.

  • Degrees conferred outside of the United States must be evaluated by a recognized evaluation service.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop operation budgets and spending plan projections
  • Screen disbursements and prepare supporting packages
  • Process vendor payments and employee reimbursements
  • Prepare monthly cost allocation report
  • Reconcile electronic payments within the various court systems, ensuring payments are identified and posted accurately
  • Function as a liaison and establish positive working relationships with other divisions, vicinages, central office and external stakeholders
  • Perform cash control functions (daily register cash outs, deposit preparations and reconciliations) as needed.
  • Draft and implement manuals, guides or operating procedures
  • Adhere to accounting and internal control standards to maintain fiscal integrity
  • Advise manager on deadlines, rules, regulation or related information
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Court Executive 2B (Finance Division Manager) and / or Court Executive 1B (Assistant Finance Division Manager) as operationally required.
