About The Position

Merrill Wealth Management is seeking a Financial Solutions Advisor Trainee for its Advisor Development Program in the centralized segment. This role offers a structured path to becoming a licensed Financial Advisor, starting with obtaining necessary securities licenses (SIE, Series 7, Series 66) through dedicated training. Upon licensing, trainees will learn foundational advisor skills, including client relationship management, financial planning, and providing holistic advice. Financial Solutions Advisors in the centralized segment are phone-based advisors who offer comprehensive financial guidance, identify client needs, and align Merrill and Bank of America products and services. The program provides extensive training, one-on-one coaching, and resources to help individuals build a successful career in wealth management, working with affluent and high-net-worth clients. The ultimate goal is to progress into a Merrill Financial Solutions Advisor (MFSA) role.

Requirements

  • Must obtain SIE within 60 days of hire.
  • Must obtain Series 7 and Series 66 within 120 days of hire (63 & 65 accepted in lieu of 66).
  • Displays confidence working in a sales role.
  • Builds strong client relationships through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Displays a proactive mindset and effective time management.
  • Demonstrates a results-driven mindset and prioritizes client interests.
  • Identifies appropriate client solutions through application of learnings and new information.
  • Applies relevant regulatory due diligence in daily activities and creating long-term client strategies.
  • Subject to SAFE Act registration requirements, including background check and registration process.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with clients, including affluent and high net worth individuals.
  • Review investment goals and prepare investment recommendations.
  • Provide end-to-end comprehensive advice and deliver client reviews/presentations.
  • Collaborate with core banking and investment partners.
  • Connect clients to a wide range of Bank of America and Merrill solutions.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients by providing exceptional client care.
  • Engage in continuous training and professional development.
