The Financial Solutions Advisor Stage I (FSA I) role begins with dedicated training to obtain securities industry licenses, followed by instruction in foundational advisory skills. These include acquiring, building, and managing client relationships; understanding clients’ financial circumstances; and providing advice and solutions. After reaching key milestones, the advisor works in a financial center, helping deliver Bank of America’s core banking and investment solutions and client-care approach. The role includes structured lessons and dedicated study time for the SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 exams (Series 63 and 65 are accepted in lieu of Series 66). The SIE must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and Series 7 and Series 66 within 120 days. Successful licensed advisors typically progress to Financial Solutions Advisor Stage II, where they grow and deepen relationships within a client portfolio and may pursue other roles at Bank of America and Merrill. The position is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. The employee must register with the federal registry system, complete the required background check and registration process, and maintain registration in good standing. Failure to obtain or maintain registration may result in termination.
