About The Position

Join the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) as a Financial Services Technician - Cash Receipts and use your bookkeeping, cash-handling, and customer service skills to support essential behavioral health services in the community. This position is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with financial transactions, client accounts, and computerized billing systems. As a Financial Services Technician, you'll play an important role in supporting the financial operations that help H-NNCSB deliver essential community-based services. You'll work alongside a collaborative team where your attention to detail, financial skills, and commitment to accuracy help ensure payments, billing, and financial records are processed efficiently and accurately.

Requirements

Experience in bookkeeping or accounting, cash handling, and working in a business environment with public interaction or customer service.
At least one year of experience working with computer-based system and software.
The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a public behavioral health care setting is preferred

Responsibilities

Process and accurately record cash, checks, payments, deposits, and financial transactions.
Enter and maintain client and financial information in billing and reimbursement systems.
Prepare financial reports, summaries, and records while maintaining accurate files.
Explain client charges, accounts, and insurance reimbursements clearly and professionally.
Follow established cash-handling, billing, and financial procedures and stay current with insurance billing requirements.
