About The Position

The Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission (VWC) is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Services Specialist to support payroll and accounting operations. Requirements

  • Experience supporting payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, accounting support, or other financial operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other business software.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, data entry and organization skills.
  • Payroll, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable knowledge and the ability to work within the state statues, rules and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using enterprise financial or payroll systems is preferred.
  • Experience with Cardinal Financials and Human Capital Management (HCM) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with payroll processing and maintain supporting payroll documentation.
  • Partner with Human Resources to research and resolve employee payroll questions.
  • Enter and maintain financial data related to civil penalties and file copy invoices.
  • Provide excellent customer service while responding to financial inquiries.
  • Serve as back-up support for processing payments within Cardinal Financials.
  • Process invoices and claim awards accurately and timely.
  • Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative duties to support the Financial Services Department.
