About The Position

Provides quality service to internal and external members in-person and over the telephone. Performs all duties assigned to the teller and member services areas according to established policies and procedures. Maintains working knowledge of and aggressively promotes credit union products/services at every opportunity, including completing outbound calls and making referrals that result in new services to new/existing members. Prepares workstation daily, processes mail distribution, and balances daily. Performs operational duties and troubleshoots problems with department equipment, reporting errors immediately and correcting them as applicable. Maintains functional knowledge of online systems and all software used in the department. Prepares reports, files, makes photocopies/scans, and scans signature cards. Backs up the duties of the head employee and/or other functions as assigned by management. Performs all member service related duties, including opening/closing/changing of deposit accounts and certificates, processing credit/debit card transactions, stop payments, checking accounts, safe deposit box access, electronic service requests, credit cards, consumer loans, mortgage/home equity preliminary applications, payment transfers, wire transfers, skip-a-payments, and investigating account or card fraud. Maintains working knowledge of lending policy, loan approval guidelines, and related laws/regulations. Aggressively promotes and sells the TruStage Lender Development Program, calculating loan terms and assisting members with claims. Performs duties of membership officer and/or notary as assigned. Performs duties to unlock/lock doors, schedule appointments, review credit reports, process lien terminations, clean loan files, review security title, handle CPI follow-up, loan verifications, youth program activities, handle deliveries, and department assigned side jobs. Performs all teller related duties, including balancing cash drawers, processing deposits, payments, withdrawals, check cashing, and other transactions. Maintains updated brochures, ensures logs are completed, processes night drop-box transactions, and performs member acknowledgement desk duties. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous cash handling and customer service experience desired.
  • Must attain all required licenses and/or certifications to perform duties of position.

Responsibilities

  • Reports errors, abnormalities, and out of balance conditions to supervisor immediately.
  • Corrects all out of balance conditions as applicable.
  • Performs office closing procedures.
  • Maintains functional knowledge of online systems and all software used in the department.
  • Prepares reports, files, makes photocopies/scans, and scans signature cards.
  • Creates new Excel reports and maintains current ones.
  • Backs up the duties of the head employee, and/or other functions as assigned by management.
  • Performs all member service related duties, including opening/closing/changing of deposit accounts and certificates, processing credit/debit card transactions, stop payments, checking accounts, safe deposit box access, electronic service requests, credit cards, consumer loans, mortgage/home equity preliminary applications, payment transfers, wire transfers, skip-a-payments, and investigating account or card fraud.
  • Maintains working knowledge of lending policy, loan approval guidelines, and related laws/regulations.
  • Aggressively promotes and sells the TruStage Lender Development Program.
  • Calculates loan term, rate, amount financed, and payment amount with all eligible insurance coverages.
  • Assists members with Credit Life, Disability, Debt Protection, and GAP claims.
  • Performs duties of membership officer and/or notary as assigned.
  • Performs duties to unlock/lock doors, schedule appointments, review credit reports, process lien terminations, clean loan files, review security title, handle CPI follow-up, loan verifications, youth program activities, handle deliveries, and department assigned side jobs.
  • Performs all teller related duties, including balancing cash drawer, checks received, TCDs or TCRs, and other miscellaneous items; processing member deposits, payments, withdrawals, check cashing, mail requests; cashier checks, cash advances, money orders, gift cards and other promotional items; scanning checks and balancing Check 21; opening/closing of sub-accounts; member deposit verifications.
  • Maintains updated brochures in lobby and ensures supply is up-to-date.
  • Maintains and verifies all required logs are completed.
  • Processes night drop-box or in-office drop box transactions.
  • Performs all member acknowledgement desk related duties.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
