About The Position

Provides quality service to internal and external members in-person and over the telephone. Performs all duties assigned to the teller and member services areas according to established policies and procedures. This role involves maintaining knowledge of credit union products and services, promoting them to members, and completing sales-related tasks. The representative will also manage office supplies, train colleagues, balance daily operations, troubleshoot equipment, and maintain functional knowledge of online systems and software. Additionally, the role includes preparing reports, filing, copying, scanning, and backing up other functions as assigned. A significant part of the role involves performing member service duties such as opening/closing accounts, processing card transactions, handling stop payments, managing safe deposit boxes, processing electronic requests, and assisting with loan applications. The representative must also maintain knowledge of lending policies, loan approval guidelines, and relevant laws and regulations, as well as promote and sell the TruStage Lender Development Program. Other duties include acting as a membership officer or notary, managing office access, reviewing credit reports, processing lien terminations, and handling various administrative tasks. Teller duties include balancing cash drawers, processing deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and other financial transactions, as well as operating specific machines and managing sub-accounts. The role also requires maintaining brochures, ensuring logs are completed, processing drop box transactions, and performing duties at the member acknowledgement desk.

Responsibilities

  • Completes Sales Plus logs.
  • Performs duties necessary to order and maintain department office supplies and supplies in individual work area.
  • Prepares workstation daily and keeps workstation organized.
  • Processes mail distribution (incoming/outgoing).
  • Trains/mentors other credit union employees as directed.
  • Maintains update of work status to supervisor as required.
  • Balances daily.
  • Performs operational duties and troubleshoots problems with department equipment.
  • Reports errors, abnormalities, and out of balance conditions to supervisor immediately.
  • Corrects all out of balance conditions as applicable.
  • Performs office closing procedures.
  • Maintains functional knowledge of online systems and all software used in the department.
  • Prepares reports, files, makes photocopies/scans, and scans signature cards as required and assigned.
  • Creates new Excel reports and maintains current.
  • Backups the duties of the head employee, and/or other functions as assigned by management.
  • Performs all member service related duties, including but not limited to; opening/closing/changing of deposit accounts and regular/IRA certificates; issue, order new, close/renew, change/adjust, report travel requests, process balance transfer on Credit/Debit card accounts; processing of stop payments, copies, corrections, orders, and balancing checking accounts; safe deposit applications and member access; process electronic service requests, process and issue Visa or consumer loans, storage waivers; mortgage/home equity preliminary applications; process share to share or share to loan payment transfers; wire transfers; skip-a-payments; investigate account or card fraud and process any necessary paperwork and all member account related file maintenance requests according to procedures.
  • Maintains working knowledge of; lending policy, loan approval guidelines, and other related laws and/or regulations; NADA values/resources, MLA and HMDA.
  • Aggressively promotes and sells the TruStage Lender Development Program to credit union members.
  • Calculates loan term, rate, amount financed, and payment amount with all eligible insurance coverages.
  • Assists members with Credit Life, Disability, Debt Protection, and GAP claims.
  • Performs duties of membership officer and/or notary as assigned and according to procedures.
  • Performs duties to; unlock/lock entrance doors; schedule/assume responsibility for member appointments; pull/review consumer credit reports and investigate disputes; process lien terminations; clean loan files; keep loan vault in order; review security title and tracking exception report; handle any CPI follow-up issues; loan verifications; youth program related activities; handle all office deliveries; and department assigned side jobs.
  • Performs all teller related duties, including but not limited to; balance cash drawer, checks received, TCDs or TCRs, and other miscellaneous items; process member deposits, payments, withdrawals, check cashing, mail requests; , cashier checks, Visa/MasterCard cash advances, money orders, gift cards and other promotional items; scan checks and balance Check 21; open/close check printer and money order machine and instant issue machine; opening/closing of sub-accounts.; member deposit verifications.
  • Maintains updated brochures in lobby; supply of brochures and ensure they are up-to-date; maintains and verifies all required logs are completed; processes night drop-box or in-office drop box transactions; and performs all member acknowledgement desk related duties.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
