About The Position

This is a part-time role for a Fortune 100 company with nearly $70 billion in annual sales, focused on delivering extraordinary care to help individuals and businesses prepare for and protect their future. The company is experiencing exciting growth and is looking to add four (4) part-time associates to their Surge Team to support annuity transaction processing during peak hours. This team plays a key role in managing volume increases, supporting Annuity New Business, and helping reduce overtime while maintaining high service standards. The Surge Team provides flexible support during high-volume periods and serves as a feeder group to meet evolving business needs, including potential future full-time opportunities based on performance and business demand. The role requires applicants to live within a 35-mile radius of the Grandview Heights location due to in-office and training requirements. The training period is 3 weeks and conducted in-person, Monday-Friday, 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM. After training, the role will transition to a hybrid schedule with part-time hours of 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM (25 hours per week), with Mondays and Tuesdays in the office and Wednesdays through Fridays working from home.

Requirements

  • High school studies.
  • One to three years of work experience with product-related customer service work experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of office practices, customer service, information systems and insurance/financial services industry practices (i.e. annuities, mutual funds) preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills to effectively communicate with others.
  • Basic analytical and problem resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to research, analyze and solve problems, leveraging existing processes and procedures.
  • Ability to understand, anticipate and proactively act on customer needs.
  • Proven decision-making skills necessary for customer contacts.
  • Effective team-building and collaboration skills.
  • Associates must acquire the required federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit.
  • A credit check may be required if a license is required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Undergraduate studies desirable.
  • Participation in technical coursework such as LOMA, CLU, ChFC desirable.
  • FINRA Series 6 license preferred, and may be required, based on assigned product/line-of-business or distribution system.

Responsibilities

  • Processes business requests according to government regulations, contract provisions and internal procedures and controls.
  • Adheres to high standards of professional conduct consistent with the delivery of excellent customer service.
  • Provides outstanding quality customer service by demonstrating and understanding customer needs and emphasizing timely responses.
  • Maintains current knowledge of contract and product provisions, administration of Nationwide products, processing systems and related federal and state regulations.
  • Integrates lean methodology into daily interactions through problem-solving meetings and team huddles.
  • Consults and interprets contract provisions for current and past products and assumed business for policyholders, agents/brokers and other operating units.
  • Includes understanding topics that require insurance or securities license and registration and understands when and how to route those inquiries to the properly registered representative.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
