About The Position

EY’s Financial Services Organization (FSO) serves clients across banking and capital markets, wealth and asset management, insurance, and real estate, hospitality, and construction. The Business Tax Advisory practice focuses on US Tax Information Reporting & Withholding (IRW), supporting clients with mission-critical operational tax and customer reporting issues throughout the project lifecycle. The IRW team works across financial services, banking, insurance, and multinational sectors, with engagements primarily involving non-resident alien withholding and reporting under IRC Sections 1441 to 1446, domestic withholding and reporting, cost basis reporting, and other global compliance and reporting initiatives. As a Senior in Global Information and Withholding (GIRW), you will support financial institutions and clients with complex regulatory requirements. The work includes gathering and verifying customer documents under FATCA and CRS, updating client records, and providing indirect tax reporting services such as withholding tax, GST, and VAT. You will help clients comply with local and global regulations, including entity classification, registration, due diligence, and advice on economic substance laws. The team uses advanced technology to deliver tax reporting services. You will perform technical IRW work, interpret the IRS Code and Treasury Regulations, draft technical guidance, and conduct tax technical analysis supporting client positions and regulatory interpretations. You will contribute to processes, solutions, and projects; define and execute deliverables; track project status; and maintain engagement economics. The role is billable to external clients and may involve regular travel, client working sessions, workstream membership or leadership, coordination of junior colleagues, project management, resource planning, and support for RFP responses. You will work with limited supervision on day-to-day assignments and receive more direct supervision on new or non-recurring assignments. EY describes the position as part of a team-led, leader-enabled hybrid model, with most external client-serving employees expected to work in person 60% of the time over an engagement, project, or year.
