About The Position

Organization's Summary Statement: The Financial Services Coordinator supports the fiscal and operational functions of the Clark School of Engineering by assisting with financial commitments management, account reconciliation, reporting, and process improvement initiatives through the use of university systems and software tools. This position reports to the Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration and collaborates with the Business Office Team and others to assist with refining various aspects of the financial operations. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The A. Physical Demands: Normal office environment— sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading. Ability to travel around campus for meetings and to attend to duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • One (1) year of professional budget, finance, or accounting experience.
  • Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
  • Knowledge of finance functions.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
  • Ability to analyze situations and determine the best solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn new systems and tools.
  • Ability to interpret and apply financial policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, administrators, and/or central offices.
  • Degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, or related field.
  • Additional training and certifications in finance, accounting, or related areas.
  • Familiarity with Workday or other enterprise systems.
