About The Position

Temporary position for 12 months. The incumbent at Desjardins Ontario Credit Union, supports financial planners and advisors in carrying out operational activities originating from the sales teams, following processes related to savings and financing products and services. More specifically, you will be required to: Prepare documents for meetings with members and customers. Update members' financial statements and profiles in the database and enter notes regarding sales opportunities for financial planners and advisors. Process the instructions in the tool provided for this purpose. Input, validate and save activities and transactions (e.g. disbursements, renewals, changes to mortgage and consumer financing and penalty calculations; renewal, changes to, and redemption of savings; investment fund applications and IN and OUT transfers; account closures and estate settlements). Finalize files following meetings with members and customers by updating information in accordance with the action plan, recording follow-up activities, and updating financial statements. Process files as well as certain reports, when necessary. Carry out filing and document management activities (e.g. purging and storage) for the sector in accordance with current practices and regulations. When necessary, contact members and customers to follow up on missing documents or those forwarded for signing. Ensure that files are complete and compliant in a timely fashion and in accordance with prescribed quality standards. Maintain the security of transactions and operations in accordance with current policies, practices and standards.

Requirements

  • High school diplomas in a related field
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience
  • Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with english-speaking partners, members and/or clients
  • Understanding of financial documents used in asset management
  • Knowledge of all products and services aimed at caisse members and those offered by Desjardins business centres, components and distribution networks, as well as those of competitors
  • Knowledge of integrating financial data into systems
  • Knowledge of compliance with An Act respecting the distribution of financial products and services
  • Understanding of the philosophy and fundamentals of financial services cooperatives
  • Knowledge of operating procedures related to investment and financing activities
  • Knowledge of operating procedures related to convenience products and services and automated and assisted transactions
