About The Position

StellerVista Credit Union is seeking a Financial Services Representative to provide quality service to members and contribute to branch success through achieving retail sales goals and applying member relationship management tools. This role involves promoting and selling credit union deposit and lending products to non-portfolioed members, including completing sales of deposit and registered products, conducting loan interviews for personal loans, mortgages, and lines of credit, and preparing documentation for approval. The representative will also initiate needs-based referrals to staff specialists, process loan applications using ProLender, conduct credit and security checks, process loan payments, and administer overdraft and delinquency programs. Additionally, they will resolve member concerns, maintain loan files, administer estates, participate in sales campaigns, and provide technical support to other staff. This is a bargaining unit position.

Requirements

  • Secondary school diploma.
  • Minimum of four years related sales and service experience with a Financial Institution.
  • Experience where basic retail lending procedures for products such as personal secured loans, RSP loans and overdraft protection requests are an ongoing requirement.
  • Accountability to members, the StellerVista team, and communities.
  • Responsiveness to listen and care to provide exceptional service and advice.
  • Ability to build trust with members and others in the StellerVista team.

  • Credit Union knowledge of lending and deposit products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality service to members.
  • Contribute to branch success through achievement of established retail sales goals.
  • Apply member relationship management tools and techniques.
  • Support the promotion and sales of credit union deposit and lending products and services to non-portfolioed members.
  • Complete the sale of deposit products and registered products.
  • Conduct loan interviews for personal loans, mortgages, and lines of credit.
  • Prepare documentation and associated recommendations for senior officer or manager approval.
  • Initiate needs-based referrals to staff specialists to meet member product and service needs.
  • Process loan applications using ProLender and conduct related credit and security checks.
  • Process loan payments and administer overdraft and delinquency programs for non-portfolioed members.
  • Resolve member concerns with loan and deposit-related problems.
  • Maintain loan files and records.
  • Administer estates.
  • Actively participate in the execution of individual product and service campaigns.
  • Provide technical support and advice to other credit union staff in the sale and processing of deposit and retail lending products and services.
