About The Position

The Financial Service Representative (FSR) role at Tulare Prosperity involves greeting new customers, interviewing them to understand their needs, and explaining available financial services. This includes deposit services, consumer services, and online banking. The FSR will discuss account limits, requirements, and fees, and refer customers to other bank departments for additional services. A key aspect of the role is promoting strong customer relationships, cross-selling, and offering new products and services. Responsibilities also include collecting initial deposits, renting and assisting with safe deposit boxes, maintaining customer legal files, and ensuring client information confidentiality. The FSR will order checks and debit cards, complete compliance training, close CDs, IRAs, and Safe Deposit Boxes, and assist with consumer loan applications. They will also perform Chex Systems verification, answer customer questions, and demonstrate good risk management skills, including fraud prevention and robbery guidelines. Occasional travel to other branches for coverage may be required, along with participation in qualifying CRA activities and collecting/reviewing required documentation. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with both customers and employees
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills for maintaining good relationships with customers and addressing concerns promptly to increase customer satisfaction
  • Problem-solving skills for identifying and addressing customer concerns
  • Detail-oriented, high degree of accuracy
  • Multitasking skills for handling multiple clients and their accounts
  • Excellent computer skills to enable the use of online programs account and record management
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Plus, two (2) or more years of experience in bank operations, new accounts, or credit assistant/loan positions.
  • Banking industry knowledge including, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Deposit and Loan Products for Consumers, Small Business, and Commercial Clients.

Responsibilities

  • Greet new customers
  • Interview customers to obtain information and explain available financial and deposit services, consumer services, and online banking services
  • Discuss any limits, requirements, or fees associated with an account
  • Refers prospects and customers to other areas of the bank for additional services
  • Promote strong customer and client interactions, build relationships, participate in cross-selling, and offer new products and services
  • Collect initial account deposit and process for customer
  • Rents safe deposit boxes and assists customers with safe deposit boxes
  • Maintains customer branch legal files, including MSB accounts
  • Ensure that all client information is confidential
  • Order checks and/or debit cards
  • Comply and stay up to date with applicable laws and regulations through compliance online training
  • Close CDs, IRAs, and Safe Deposit Boxes
  • Assist customers to complete consumer loan applications and forwarding applications to the appropriate department
  • Complete Chex Systems verification on new accounts
  • Answers questions in person or on the telephone and refers customers to other bank services as necessary
  • Demonstrate good risk management decisions, including displaying solid knowledge of guidelines for fraud prevention and robbery
  • May need to travel to another branch location to assist with coverage
  • Participates in qualifying CRA activities
  • Collect and review required documentation based on account ownership
  • Other duties as assigned
