About The Position

This role is responsible for working as an active member of the Branch Office sales/service team. The Financial Service Representative I is expected to comply with operating policies and procedures and outside regulatory requirements. This position focuses on developing customer relationships to identify and capitalize on selling and cross-selling opportunities. The role involves communicating with management and staff regarding sales objectives and performance, and preparing various forms and reports.

Requirements

  • A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field normally required; specialized banking education and training; Notary certification or willingness to obtain as requested.
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, analytical, and mathematics skills.
  • Proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and sales skills.
  • Strong PC skills.
  • A thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank products and services.
  • A working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures.
  • Technical supervisory skills and sufficient skills to provide assistance in training of branch staff.
  • Visual and auditory skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of related experience normally required.

Responsibilities

  • Works as an active member of the Branch Office sales/service team.
  • Solicits new business from present and prospective customers; maintains ongoing business relationships with present customers to take advantage of additional cross-selling opportunities.
  • Provides sales information on a timely basis for monthly and year-to-date sales performance reports.
  • Develops quarterly individual sales plans to define action steps to achieve individual sales goals.
  • Performs all the responsibilities of a Teller as needed.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank products and services to ascertain customer needs and sell in conjunction with these needs.
  • Provides direct service to customers regarding deposit, loan, trust, and other miscellaneous products and services; approves or rejects loan applications within individual lending authority.
  • Assists customers in obtaining specialized services from other bank departments as necessary; provides help to customers with specific inquiries or service problems.
  • Performs special projects and other tasks as assigned.
  • Complies with established operating policies and procedures to support the Bank’s adherence to outside regulatory requirements.
  • Abides by current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed to promote an environment free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior.
  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness.
  • Actively participates in the community in a manner that reflects favorably on the bank.
  • Follows FSR Priorities as defined in the Retail Routines.
