About The Position
This internship supports the Financial Reporting team by assisting with financial reporting, automation initiatives, documentation improvements, and the preparation of quarterly financial statements. The role provides hands-on experience with financial reporting processes, audit support, and the renewable energy industry while helping improve the accuracy and efficiency of department operations.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance at an accredited US university program
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Ability to work onsite in Chicago, IL throughout the summer program
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. RWE Americas is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time.
Nice To Haves
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis and optimization to streamline data processing and enhance accuracy and efficiency is a plus
Responsibilities
- Support the accounting and financial reporting teams in the preparation, review, and optimization of financial reporting models
- Enhance Workiva model automation and process efficiency
- Assist in assembling, editing, and standardizing documentation of financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity throughout all deliverables
- Collaborate effectively with team members to collect accounting information for audit support, external auditor inquiries, and ad hoc requests related to financial statements
- Develop and expand knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards and the renewable energy sector
