The Financial Portfolio Manager I serves as a strategic financial partner to our housing programs, properties, and leadership team. By ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining compliance, supporting responsible budgeting, and providing insightful analysis, this position helps safeguard the resources that make our mission possible. Requirements

  • Accounting or finance experience with a general understanding of financial statements, general ledger activity, reconciliations, budgeting, and basic accounting principles.
  • A strong team player who works well with Finance, Property Management, and other departments across the organization.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new systems, processes, programs, and areas of finance.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the willingness to research an issue, ask appropriate questions, and work toward a solution.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate financial information clearly.
  • Dependable and organized, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Positive attitude and initiative. Someone who is willing to jump in, help the team, and learn rather than needing to already know everything.
  • Desire to grow professionally and take on increasing responsibility as knowledge and experience develop.
  • Adaptable and flexible with the ability to adjust to changing priorities, deadlines, and organizational needs.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. This is especially important in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end work.
  • Must be local or able to reliably commute to the office, as this is an in-person position.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field OR Associate degree in Accounting and ten (10) years of progressively responsible accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Valid Florida Driver's License and ability to meet PCHA insurance requirements

  • Experience with Yardi software
  • Experience in affordable housing, public sector finance, grant administration, or HUD-funded programs

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial activities for assigned housing properties, grants, and programs
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Analyze financial trends and provide recommendations to leadership
  • Monitor cash flow, banking activities, and investments
  • Support annual audits and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Perform account reconciliations and monthly close activities
  • Partner with property management and operational teams to support financial success
  • Assist in achieving organizational goals through strategic financial management
