About The Position

KRM Generational Wealth Advisors , a premier Northwestern Mutual Private Client Group practice, is expanding and currently seeking a detail-oriented, process-driven Planning Assistant . Our team supports clients through every stage and transition in life, and we are committed to delivering an exceptional experience rooted in trust, integrity, and professionalism. The Planning Assistant plays a key role in supporting the financial planning function at KRM. This individual will work closely with advisors and planning team members to prepare analyses, organize client information, and ensure planning work is executed accurately and efficiently. This role is well-suited for someone who thrives in a detail-oriented environment, enjoys working behind the scenes to support high-quality outcomes, and takes pride in producing accurate, thoughtful work. It offers meaningful exposure to financial planning and the opportunity to grow within a high-performing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field
  • Prior experience in a professional, detail-oriented role (financial services experience is a plus but not required)
  • Life, Accident & Health License and FINRA registrations (SIE, Series 7, Series 63) preferred If not currently licensed/registered, the ability and willingness to obtain required licenses within 12 months is required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to work through complex information
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through consistently

Nice To Haves

  • Life, Accident & Health License and FINRA registrations (SIE, Series 7, Series 63) preferred
  • Prior experience in a professional, detail-oriented role (financial services experience is a plus but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize financial planning materials in advance of client meetings
  • Maintain and update client data within planning software and CRM systems with a high degree of accuracy
  • Run and refine planning scenarios (retirement, insurance, cash flow, etc.) in collaboration with senior team members
  • Summarize planning outputs and key observations for advisor review
  • Document client meetings, including detailed notes and clearly defined follow-up actions
  • Track and manage outstanding planning items to support timely implementation
  • Conduct research and gather information to support planning recommendations
  • Maintain organization across client files, workflows, and planning deliverables
  • Partner with operations and service team members to ensure a seamless client experience

Benefits

  • This is a full-time, salaried position based in our Edina, MN office.
  • Salary range is $60,000-70,000, commensurate with experience and licensure.
