About The Position

Raymond James Ltd. is seeking a Financial Planner who thrives on developing thoughtful, goals-based financial plans for an established client base. Working closely with Financial Advisors, you will help clients prepare for retirement, optimize tax strategies, and make confident long-term financial decisions. As part of our wealth management team, you will provide comprehensive financial planning services and collaborate with specialists in tax, insurance, trusts, estates, and investments. The goal is to provide exceptional service to our clients while supporting one another as a team.

Requirements

  • CFP, QAFP, RFP or Pl. Fin (in QC), (in good standing)
  • At least 2 years of experience working in the financial industry, preferably as a financial planner but also as an associate advisor or assistant.
  • Strong knowledge of retirement, tax, estate, and cash-flow planning.
  • Confidence in presenting and explaining complex planning concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, judgment, and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with financial planning software such as Conquest or RazorPlan.
  • Exposure to corporate planning and trust structures.
  • Previous experience supporting advisors with financial planning strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop clear, customized financial plans tailored to each client's goals and objectives.
  • Lead discovery conversations to gain a thorough understanding of clients' financial circumstances, priorities, and long-term aspirations.
  • Prepare projections, cash-flow analyses, retirement scenarios, and concise planning summaries.
  • Present financial plans in a clear and understandable manner, helping clients make informed decisions with confidence.
  • Provide ongoing plan updates as clients' circumstances and goals evolve.
  • Participate in annual review meetings as a secondary planning resource.
  • Respond to client inquiries related to financial planning.
  • Integrate tax, retirement, investment, estate, cash management, and insurance planning strategies into comprehensive client recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities related to CPP/OAS optimization, RRIF conversions, tax efficiency, and corporate planning.
  • Collaborate closely with internal specialists across tax, insurance, trust, estate, and philanthropic planning.
  • Coordinate follow-up activities to help ensure planning recommendations are implemented effectively.
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with clients and Financial Advisors.
  • Champion the value of financial planning throughout the branch.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships and support organic business growth.
  • Collaborate with external professionals when appropriate.
  • Maintain the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, confidentiality, and client service.
  • Remain current on financial planning trends, tax legislation, and regulatory developments.
  • Serve as a key financial planning resource within the branch.
  • Participate in client events, workshops, webinars, and educational initiatives as required.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, supportive, and continuously improving team environment.
