About The Position

This role involves preparing and reviewing annual financial reporting packages, including 5500s, 8955-SSAs, and SARs for Vanguard clients. The consultant will utilize strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to address technical questions and ensure an exceptional client experience. A key aspect of the role is the ability to independently analyze and resolve issues, identifying trends and working to eliminate process gaps. Collaboration within a team environment is essential for timely and accurate deliverables. The position also includes providing training and technical guidance to a global team of administrators on financial reporting and Form 5500 tax filings, adhering to ERISA, DOL regulations, and GAAP. Furthermore, the consultant will identify areas for improvement and automation, independently organizing and executing project plans to benefit Vanguard and its clients. This includes motivating project team members, monitoring performance, and communicating project status to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Minimum of two years related work experience include leading projects
• Working knowledge of recordkeeping systems and functions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to influence and guide business partners, and exercise good judgement in decision making
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Working knowledge of retirement plans and investment performance data

Responsibilities

• Prepares and reviews annual financial reporting packages, 5500s, 8955-SSAs, and SARs for Vanguard clients.
• Exhibits communication skills, both written and verbal, to address technical questions and create an exceptional client experience.
• Independently analyzes and resolves issues. Capable of identifying trends associated with challenges and works to eliminate process issues or gaps.
• Works collaboratively in a team environment with a focus on timely and accurate deliverables to clients.
• Provides training and technical guidance to a global team of administrators who prepare financial reporting packages and Form 5500 tax filings. This is in accordance with ERISA, the Department of Labor (DOL), and in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Identifies improvement areas, automation solutions, and independently organizes and executes project plans to create win-win outcomes for Vanguard and clients. Provides direction and motivation to project team members and is accountable to deliver outcomes. Monitors, analyzes, and reports on project performance. Effectively communicates project status and updates to stakeholders, including appropriate elevation of issues.

• Participates in special team / cross-team projects and performs other duties as assigned.
