About The Position

Chai Discovery is seeking its first finance hire to own the company's financial operating system end-to-end. This role is crucial for a small company with complex financial needs, including compute acquisition for frontier AI, data spend across partners, and managing pharma contracts with revenue recognition and compliance obligations. The individual will be responsible for the close process, building a clear view of financial expenditures, managing the financial model and cash forecast, overseeing related financial machinery, and establishing a reporting cadence for leadership. The ideal candidate is a tech-savvy, AI-fluent financial generalist with experience in early-stage and growth-stage startups, a bias for fixing workflows, and a hands-on, low-ego, high-agency mindset.

Requirements

• Financial generalist with the ability to own the entire financial system.
